The process to fix QB bank error 108 requires users to perform 2 steps. It includes going through your credit card or bank’s website and updating the bank connections within QBO. Step 1: Check Messages on the Website for Your Bank or Credit Card Company

Log in to your bank or credit card’s website using the same credentials you used for connecting your account to Quickbooks. Go through all the messages and notifications. If you are required to take any further steps, the notification will guide you on what to do. If there is no notification but the error message is popping up, you need to disable the pop-up blocker for your account’s website.

  1. Log into your QuickBooks Online account.

  1. Log into your Self-Employed account. 
  2. Tap on the Profile icon and click on Bank Accounts.
  3. Now press Refresh all.

Banks-Specific Steps If You Can’t See Notification

Contact your bank if the error message appears on your QB screen but you could not see any notification on your account’s screen despite the pop-up blocker being active. Certain types of messages that can cause error 108 may be hidden from view. 

Bank of America

Customers of Bank of America will need to contact the company and request to be enrolled in Account Management. You’ll be able to see the messages you need to acknowledge once you’ve enrolled. You will not see the notifications that are preventing you from downloading transactions into QuickBooks Online if you are not enrolled.    

Fifth Third Bank

If you’re getting Error 108 from Fifth Third Bank, try logging in with an unidentified computer and setting up new security features as directed by the banking institution, then update manually.
