  • Search for the file with the name qbw.SearchIndex and right-click on it.
  • Select the Rename option and type.OLD at the end of the file name. Further, save the file with a new name and close the window.
  • Open the QuickBooks Company File once again.
  • Click on the Search/Magnified Glass tab from the top left corner of the Window followed by the Update Search Information option.
  • Click on OK when you see an update in progress please wait for a notification.
  • Try using the search feature when the update completes.
